Amy M. Twilegar

Accredited author, Amy Twilegar, grew up in San Jose, California. She developed a passion for psychology in her college years and went on to further her educational pursuits as well as writing her book, titled Psychology Within the Context of Psychiatry: Closing the Translational Gap. She has a strong desire to continue on her journey and furthering her academic success to becoming, one day, a college professor and researcher in the field. Her fervor is only met by determination in achieving these goals. Her upcoming book, soon to be published, is titled Translational Developmental Psychobiology, highlighting the need to consider not only the translational aspect of mapping theoretical frameworks onto biological data, but highlighting the need to consider developmental impacts this suggests. She wishes to one day be a college professor and psychological researcher to help others for the greater good. The implications this suggests may have a huge impact on the diagnosing and treatment of mental disorders for adults, specifically with ADHD in presenting a newfound perspective on treatment protocol, as well as criteria models. She proudly presents her book to introduce a structural revision suggestion for considering adults with ADHD and presenting extraneous variables that should not be overlooked and often are. She hopes that her contributions will one day help others who can benefit from such findings, and hopes that one day, Translational Developmental Psychobiology will emerge as a new field.
